How is your project documented?

At Constructed Matter, we have seen the importance of photo and video documentation in the construction process. That's why we have implemented the Matterport scanning system on each of our projects. We typically scan at three project milestones to help in our construction process as well as for documenting purposes.

First is the Pre-Construction Scan, which helps us get as-builts, a next day floor plan for takeoffs, and a 3D walkthrough for subcontractor estimating. This scan is essential for ensuring that everyone involved in the project has a clear understanding of what needs to be done, and any existing complications that may impact a specific project.

The second milestone is the Post Rough-in Scan, which gives us a 3D scan for documenting work. This scan comes in handy if we need to rework an area or if something gets buried under drywall. It allows us to identify and address any issues before they become bigger problems, and it can also be used to measure the progress of the project against the project schedule and budget.

The final milestone is the Final Scan, which documents the final project and is useful for the homeowner's insurance documentation. This scan provides a visual representation of the completed project, which can be used for future reference and maintenance.

We have seen immense value both for ourselves in planning, during construction, and for our clients after project completion by utilizing these scans. The Matterport scanning system allows us to capture high-quality, detailed images and videos that serve as evidence of our work and progress. It also helps us ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations and improves communication and collaboration among stakeholders.

In conclusion, photo and video documentation, especially with the use of advanced scanning systems like the Matterport, is crucial in the construction process. It allows for record-keeping, monitoring and evaluating progress, communication and collaboration, ensuring safety and compliance, and can be used for future reference. Constructed Matter is committed to utilizing the latest technology to ensure that our client’s projects are documented thoroughly and accurately.
